The documentary "HistoryGermany" consists of three 45-minute episodes. Each of them deals with important milestones in German history and which stories are related to them. Our motion design task was to create a series intro and several short explanatory sequences. Since we had to work with a lot of original footage, we developed a visual language that united all the different types of material. Through the purposeful use of textures and color we brought movement to the myths of the past.

A snippet of the very first style frames when we started working on the documentary series. While the basic style of the historical footage changed during the process, our main colors of red, yellow and dark blue remained the same and shaped the look of the film.
